The profitable company

In today’s complex and competitive business world, where “good” is no longer good enough, how does an organisation take their performance through to the next level?  A large emphasis is placed on strong leadership, effective management and creating a culture of success when this topic is discussed and while these are absolutely key components in driving organisational performance, research is starting to show, quite emphatically, that ‘the on-going development of human potential is critical to business success’ (H. Johnson and H. Drake from the Actuary Magazine 2002).

The profitable employee

The premise is simple one, a ‘happy’ employee is a productive employee, and by default a productive employee drives profit.  The culture of technical skill based training as a means to drive innovation and performance in individuals has come to a tricky juncture given that it is the employee’s emotive state that will dictate how they use their technical skills.  After all, its individuals that create excellence and it’s that excellence that crafts success.

Enhancing performance

Organisations are fast realising the value in focussing on the individual’s self-development.  This approach allows space for conventional “technical” training, but with a core focus on the individual and issues that enhance their performance. The payoffs, it seems are significant.  Coaching is no longer reserved for the executive elite i.e. those in in upper management or the board of directors, but rather more and more companies are turning to coaching to complement the overall development of all their employees.

What is corporate coaching?

Corporate coaching is about restructuring the workplace into one where people receive direction from others to one where people commit to doing things passionately. The process encourages the development of personal leadership and responsibility throughout the organisation.  It teaches strategies and tactics that make sure tangible improvements happen.  However, every person is unique, and therefore so are the answers to the challenges they may be facing.  With this in mind, and keeping my core focus on the individual, I created The 5 Steps to Clarity.

The 5 Steps to Clarity

The 5 Steps to Clarity is a multi-purpose programme, designed with the intention of providing everyone, no matter where you are in your life, the power to improve it.  It creates a framework of self-awareness and gives the individual the tools to enhance their own lives.  As I mentioned above, “a ‘happy’ employee is a productive employee,” – and so this was my core focus when I designed this programme.

How can The 5 Steps to Clarity help your organisation?

“Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom.  Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.” – Lao Tzu (Tao Te Ching).  Imagine a group of individuals who are acutely aware of themselves and the people around them, and are constantly seeking to grow through personal innovation.  Imagine an organisation that is full of employees that are operating in a space that allows them to reach their full potential.  By giving your employees the opportunity to ‘know themselves’, you give them opportunity to become authentically happy, and by virtue propel your organisations success.
